Roman and Celtic Shields

Today we have made our Roman and Celtic shields. We found out why they needed shields and found out a little bit about the Romans invading Britain and how Boudicca and the Iceni tribe fought back. The Romans were very clever and we enjoyed looking at the testudo formation.

Marvellous mosaics

In art we have been creating our own mosaics because mosaics are what the Romans used to decorate their buildings like the villas and baths. We looked at some examples of Roman mosaics and used these to inspire us in creating our own. Here are a few examples of 3JH at work.
