Describing settings

Posted by on 04/10/2012

As our topic for this term is chocolate, our focus for Literacy has been Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We have spent the first 4 weeks studying setting descriptions from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We drew what we imagined after hearing a description of the chocolate room and compared this with the film. We picked out the describing words used by Roald Dahl and Then we came up with our own words to describe what we would see, hear, smell and feel in various settings. The children chose their favourite room in the chocolate room and wrote some brilliant, detailed descriptions. Take a look at some of the work by the children that chose to do the Nut Room!
